It comes with 20 sheets (40 pages) of thick 140lb (300gsm) cold pressed 100% cotton pulp based paper in a convenient 5.5 x 8 inch size. The paper is a natural handmade style acid-free paper with a lovely texture that can be painted on both front and back sides.  The journal features a hardcover ochre leatherette with elastic to hold shut and a lovely and simple gold embossed logo on the backside.
