The Anchorwatch Oilskin Blanket by Kohutt, combines a complete underside of weather-resistant oilskin canvas as the base, with natural wool insulation on top, providing a durable insulation layer for rest and warmth across land, sea, and shelter. Each blanket can include optional personalisation, matching oilskin drawstring carry sack & brass corner eyelets. Designed for use at anchor, on watch, camping, the rifle range, picnics or as a general-purpose ground cloth, it functions as a primary warmth layer within our larger product system. The breathable oilskin fabric will protect you from damp or wet ground, while the wool provides an insulation layer, forming a waterproof blanket with a multitude of uses.
Historically, oilskin fabric was used by sailors to create waterproof clothing and tarpaulins from old cotton canvas sails. Our Australian-made oilskin is famous for its durability and effectiveness in protecting against the elements. Sadly oilskin manufacturing in Australia ceased in 2024 - we are working from the last remaining bolts of Australian oilskin in existence.
